Kryptonic Wheels like Tunnel have been with us for decades. A few of the old retro classics are still available but many have evolved into modern all round longboarding wheels, for the racer, urban cruiser and fans of “Locker Boards” a name given to small longboards that students rode to school on and kept them in there lockers.

So what's still around and available by Kryptonics?

Kryptonics are probably one of the best known namesbut they sold out and are now not under there own control, maybe that is why they have gone off the boil. But it is not all bad for Kryptonic. There products are good as long as you choose with care BUT all are miles ahead of the rubbish produced by companies like Mindless. The larger Krypto Classics, say 80mm and 76mm are dame good fast wheels with good levels of grip, as they are narrower than say ABEC 11 Gumballsit means that they are very nimble and fast to respond, a good racers choice. The Route 65mm and Route 70mm are not bad all round wheels, if not a little slow but a great wheel to learn the art of longboarding on. The Classic 65mm – 62mm Cruise and Route 59mm are great on short boards and older retro and classic sk8 decks.

High quality Skate Bearings Lucky Titaniums cost a little more but keep them well lubed and they provide great service and are dam fast when well run in.

Powell Peralta...yep still riding strong!

Powell Peraltastill makes a grand selection of wheels many though are designed for Park, Bowl and Street Skateboarding, with the Old school skaters being very well looked after. The exception is the Peralta G-Bones and T-Bones if you can get them. Longboarders who want to pull off big ass slides and controlled drifts can’t go wrong with a set of Peralta G-Bones. This wheel can be very fast on smooth roads with good quality skateboard bearings fitted.
